Quick thoughts on…
“Failure to Launch” —– Matthew McConaughey is a 35 year-old homeboy, who still lives with his parents (Kathy Bates and Terry Bradshaw). The parents want him to move out and they hire Paula (Sarah Jessica Parker), an expert in dealing this type of problem. Uh, is the movie title about McConaughey’s character or actual movie itself?

“Failure to Launch” is not as bad as they say. I really think the movie was on to something, as it attempts to combine giddy romance chicks dig and humorous gags guys enjoy. Unfortunately, the attempt was a failure, but I’d like to see the formula succeed. At least the movie has the right actors for commercial purposes. Come on, it’s the “Sex and the City” leading lady (Sarah Jessica Parker) and People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive (Matthew McConaughey) — the “bimbo” genes in all women should be tickled to go. The surprising thing is that Parker and McConaughey are not the best part of the movie. Look for Zooey Deschanel and Justin Bartha to steal some thunder.GRADE: C
